We are always searching for highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral researchers with a background in (bio-)medicine, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, statistics or related fields.
Prospective PhD students are encouraged to review information on Purdue University’s admission criteria and recruitment cycles at the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. While application deadlines for graduate admission are generally December 1 (start in August the following year) and October 1 (start in January the following year), please feel free to get in touch outside of the key recruitment intervals as well.
To register interest in joining our team, please reach out with a detailed and informative email to fkolbing [at] purdue [dot] edu. Your email should contain the following details:
- Your name.
- Your academic background: If you are an undergraduate or medical student: your major, how much time you have already completed in your degree, and whether you have any prior research experience. If you are a recent graduate (bachelor’s or doctoral): your major and degree, and a brief summary of your prior research experience in 1-3 sentences.
- Please attach a CV. If you are applying for postgraduate positions, please include contact information of two professional references. When Dr. Kolbinger reaches out to your references, she will provide you with contact details of two prior mentees.
- Provide the amount of time you would like to commit. For undergraduate or medical students, the unit is hours per week. For recent graduates (bachelor’s or doctoral), the unit is years until intended next career stage and career goals.
- Explain in 1-3 sentences why you are interested in joining this specific lab.
